Obituary
At Hospice Niagara on Friday February 12th 2010 Mr. Roger Giguère passed away peacefully at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of Cécile (Robichaud) Giguère, cherished father of Denis of St. Catharines, Normand (Renee) of Haliburton , Guy (Sandi) Giguère of Ottawa, and Carole (Stuart) Knox of Calgary AB. Roger will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Christopher (Allison), Jackie, Luke (Tiffany), Thomas, Jennifer, Michel Giguère, Sarah, Emma Knox and by his great-grandchildren Sarah, Joey, Michael, Meghan and Ethan Giguère. Mr. Giguère will be sadly missed by his brothers Aime (Nancy) Fournier of Perry Sound, Claude (Utta) Fournier of St. Catharines and by his sisters Jeannette Holland of Sturgeon Falls, Rolande (George) Bemister of Kitchener and Betty (Bob) Lowe also of St. Catharines. Dear brother-in-law of Moise and Patsy Robichaud, Neil and Huguette Robichaud, Gloria Robichaud, Joy Robichaud and Aline Giguère. Roger was predeceased by his parents Florence and Joseph Giguère and step father Adrien Fournier brothers and sisters; Lucien Giguère, Rose Giguère, Fernande Giguère, Florien Fournier and Annette Fournier Tessier as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law; Euclide Robichaud, René Robichaud, Lizette Robichaud Wdowiak, Marcel Robichaud and Emile RobichaudFuneral Details
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main Street on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3 pm in Église du Sacré Coeur. Interment will take place at a later date in Warren Cemetery. A Vigil for Mr Giguère will be celebrated Tuesday evening at 8:30pm. If desired donations to Hospice Niagara (www.hospiceniagara.ca/) would be appreciated by the family

Dear Giguere family,
It is with deepest sympathies that I send you this note.
Thankfully, his suffering is over & roger is now in a better place where there is no more pain or suffering. He now feels only unspeakable joy, unconditional love & peace that passed our understanding.
We will miss him deeply but ‘our lives our but a vapor that appears’ and you will see him again soon. He has simply gone ahead of us to glory.
Take comfort Cecile in knowing that the lord is your husband with you every moment of the day or night. He’s is the father of your children & grandchildren. He is the comforter that you can reach out too in times of grief & your prince of peace whenever you need him.
Be assured that you are in my prayers, as well as the body of Christ.

Nous avons apris ce matin (dimanche) la très triste nouvelle du décès de Roger. Nous voulons te transmettre nos plus sincères condoléances. Nous allons prier de façon spéciale pour le repos de l'âme de Roger, et pour que Dieu te bénisse et te founisse toute la force et le support nécessaire pour passer à travers cette épreuve très difficile. J’ai de très bons souvenir de toi et Roger dans le temps que vous avez demeuré chez nous avec mes parents Florian et Argentina sur la rue Fares pendant que Roger construisait votre maison à Port Colborne. Que chacun des membres de ta famille te donne toute l’amour et toute la compassion possible.
