Obituary
At the Welland General Hospital on Sunday March 7th 2010 Mr. André Rodrigue of Welland at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of Gisèle (Chassé) Rodrigue, loving father of Bertrand (Janet), Diane Blackwell, Irène Doyle (Martin), Yvon (Laurette) and Gérald (Jodie). Dear brother of Adrienne Paré (Yvon) and brother-in-law of Pearl Rodrigue. Mr Rodrigue will be sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his parents Joseph and Rose Aimée, brothers and sisters Victor (Yvette), Raymond, Lionel, Adrien, Toinette, Diana and Rose.
Mr. Rodrigue was born in St. Methode, Québec and came to Welland in 1942. He worked for the city of Welland for 4 years, 20 years for the Cotton Mill and 29 years at International Nickel. He was a member of the Temple Club, Club Social, St. Jean Baptiste and Caisse Populaire.
Funeral Details
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main Street Welland on Tuesday(today) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday in Église Sacré Coeur at 11am. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Vigil prayers for André will be celebrated Tuesday evening at 8pm. If desired donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be greatly appreciated by the family.
