Henry Vandenbelt

March 8, 1932

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Vandenbelt on February 28, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Jean (née Moffatt).  Loving father of Rodney (Lisa). Proud doting Opa to Thaia and Asher. Dear brother of Yahoia, Case, John, Tony, Toose and Herman. Predeceased by his son Carl and his brother Arnold.

Henry rebuilt and raced motorcycles in his youth and was never without one to ride. He was a member of the Vintage Motor Cycle Group. One of his favourite sayings "Keep the Rubber Side Down" Henry was a talented wrought iron metal worker and created many works of beautiful art. Henry enjoyed making zip lines, slides, soap box cars, mini bikes and many other creative toys for his boys Carl and Rodney and family to enjoy. Henry also enjoyed camping with his family.

Keeping with Henry's wishes, cremation has taken place.  The family will receive their relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main St., Welland on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, donations by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
