Predeceased by her parents Hormidas and Césaria (née Gosselin).

Jacqueline was born in St. Magloire, Québec. She was the oldest of 13 children. She grew up on the family farm before moving to Welland in 1945. She was an avid cribbage player for the Ladies Cribbage League for over 35 years. She also was in a bowling league for many years.
